About the Role

As a Sales & Applications Engineer (Pre-Sales Project Lead) at beRobox, you will serve as the technical architect behind our most complex commercial opportunities. You act as the technical bridge between the client’s vision and an order ready for production.

While our standard “plug-and-play” solutions often go directly into production, you will handle non-standard or complex configurations. Your mission is to manage the technical phase of the project: validate specific requirements, drive the pre-sales schedule, and ensure a smooth, surprise-free transition to the production team once a sale is closed. You are the technical filter ensuring every accepted project is feasible, optimized, and production-ready.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Technical DEC or engineering degree in automation, robotics, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2–4 years in industrial automation or robotics, with a strong preference for candidates with technical project coordination or pre-sales engineering experience.

  • Sector knowledge: Solid understanding of robotic palletizing or end-of-line automation.

  • Hands-On Skills: Ability to diagnose and validate real-world robotic applications in a lab or demonstration environment.

Skills & Profile
  • Technical Liaison Mindset: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible explanations for clients, while maintaining the technical rigour required for internal production teams.

  • Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to clean documentation and ensuring no technical detail is lost during project handoff.

  • Problem Solving: Enjoys the challenge of custom automation projects and finding ways to adapt plug-and-play solutions to unique client requirements.

  • Travel: Availability for occasional travel to client sites or high-stakes demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Sales Project Management

  • Technical ownership: Lead the technical lifecycle of a project, from initial discovery to official order receipt.

  • Milestone tracking: Manage the schedule of pre-sales deliverables (feasibility reports, cycle-time simulations, custom layout designs) to maintain sales momentum.

  • Risk management: Identify potential technical blockers or scope creep early and propose solutions before they impact the final quote.

2. Application Analysis & Customization

  • Validation: Analyze client products and production constraints to validate robotic palletizing/de-palletizing applications.

  • Define specific needs: Lead development of custom technical requirements, including specialized end-effector selection and movement feasibility validation.

  • Technical documentation: Prepare the Statement of Work for custom projects, ensuring all technical constraints are clearly defined.

3. Testing & Proof of Concept

  • Performance validation: Coordinate and execute product tests (payload, cycle time, multi-grip) to demonstrate feasibility to the client.

  • Feedback loop: Rigorously document test results and provide clear data to support the sales proposal.

4. Handover to Production (“Clean Transition”)

  • Technical debrief: Lead a formal technical handoff session from sales to production upon order receipt.

  • Knowledge transfer: Ensure production and deployment teams have all necessary artifacts (CAD layouts, test data, client specs) to begin manufacturing immediately.

  • Final scope clarification: Support a smooth transition by remaining available as a technical reference for project history.
