See how Nyco Products automated palletizing, reduced labor dependency, and improved productivity.
When labor shortages, high employee turnover and growing production demands began impacting operations, Nyco Products, a 106-year old manufacturer of specialty cleaning chemicals, set out to find a palletizing solution that could increase capacity without requiring a major redesign of its production lines.
With nearly 900 SKUs, frequent product changeovers and limited floor space, flexibility was just as important as performance. After evaluating several automation options, Nyco Products selected PALTZ for its compact footprint, plug-and-play deployment and intuitive STACKiT software.
The impact was immediate. Four PALTZ palletizers were deployed in just over two months, increasing production throughput by 11%, reducing temporary labour by 61%, and allowing six employees to be reassigned to higher-value responsibilities. The project achieved a 1.88-year return on investment, exceeding the company's expectations.
Beyond the numbers, the solution quickly gained acceptance on the production floor. As CEO Bob Stahurski explains, "Operator changeover is very, very quick," highlighting how easily operators can switch between products using STACKiT's intuitive interface. He also noted that "Every pallet is perfectly stacked," emphasizing the consistency and quality delivered by the system.
The investment also became a symbol of the company's commitment to innovation. "Everyone loves to watch these cobots operate," says Stahurski. "It demonstrates our commitment to investing in our facility."
